Crews are underway cleaning out the Old Public Library in Freeport. Built in 1902, the library was funded by grants from Andrew Carnegie. It's a bit of a local landmark. It's also haunted. There are stories of people sighting a man in a t-shirt who vanishes before their eyes. The specter seems to be friendly and I wonder if he will still be around when the building becomes the new City Hall. Maybe the resident ghosts will welcome the new faces after their building has sat vacant for several years. I'll have to check up on this after the city folks have moved in.
Renovation is in full swing to remove asbestos to get the building ready to be city hall.
